The Parent Trip- Day 1

On Thursday, my parents flew out to New York to visit their favvvoorrrite second daughter.. ME :] So I eagerly traveled to the airport to meet them for their arrival. There they come!

This picture is a little blurry, but I had to put it up so you all can see their big smiles!

After meeting with them at their terminal, I took them on their first train ride in New York. They LOVED it. Especially when it got super crowded :] right mom and dad? haha

Three trains and an hour and a half later- we finally arrived at their hotel. They had a reallllly awesome room... However.. The absolute best part about their room has got to be the Amazing view of the Empire State Building. Check it out

After freshening up and relaxing for a minute at the hotel, Danielle came to the city to meet up with us- and we all went out for a slice at Previti Pizza. :]

A little bit later we headed downtown to visit The National September 11th Memorial. In remembrance of the nearly 3000 people that lost their lives from the terror attacks- there are two beautiful waterfalls that have each persons name inscribed on the panels surrounding the pools.

As it turns out, they are the largest man-made waterfalls in North America. They also have this architecture in the middle of the memorial- it contains some of the remaining parts from the twin towers.

And this is a picture of the new World Trade Center that is still under construction.

The tower should be completed by 2013. And it will look like this-

After visiting the memorial, we all went out for a drink or two at 1849. This is on the way there-  hahaha they're squished! hahahaha... They love it :]

By that time Danielle and I were already getting pretty tired, but we had a couple of really excited tourist with us- so we took them to Times Square.

Where they got to try their first New York City hautdwag!

I got one too!

Then Danielle and I left them to venture off on their own so that we could get a head start on our hour journey back home.

But not before going into the biggest Starbucks I have ever been in- to take a picture on their GIANT-Lets-Take-A-Picture-Randomly-And-Email-It-To-Ourselves-Screen   haha fun stuff :]
