I had a super busy day on Tuesday... To start the day I headed into the city for another volunteer opportunity with New York Cares. It was held at the Kateri Residence (an elderly home).
My job was to just hang out with a senior that I was assigned to.. We served them coffee and cookies at first, and then talked for a while... But once it came to playing games- I just didn't know how to play domino's =/
So I stacked them up instead!
(I had the ends going right to their fingers since they couldn't move very much.. It was awesome. They really liked it)
When I got home, I had this waiting in our mailbox. My brother Kiffer and his girlfriend Shayna sent Danielle and I a fun surprise Halloween package! It was filled with chocolate eyeballs, severed gummy feet, little toys, and more. !! It was AWESOME. It definitely feels like Halloween month now :]
On top of that, they sent us a card with tickets to Coney Islands Night of Horror! Sooo awesome. Thank you guys so much :] We both LOVE it. And we feel special. Can you send more chocolate eyeballs though? They were finished off by morning.
After doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, mopping, etc... It was time to get ready for my first Broadway show in New York City!!!
On my way to meet up with Wanda! Times Square..
This picture does NOT do the view from their hotel room justice. It was amazing. They also had a great view of the Hudson River! Not bad... not bad at all..
Then it was off to the show! Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre.
There were no picture-taking allowed. But I got to sneak this one.. This picture also doesn't do the view justice. It was awesome inside and the play was SO GOOD.
A litttttleeee too provocative at some points for my taste, but overall a very very good show. I definitely recommend it to anybody who loves 80's music. (That means you, Loni!)
After the show I had plans to meet up with the girls again (Chelsea, Nicole, and Becca). When I got into town, they were at Lulu's finishing off their 8th or 9th pizza...
When they were finished eating all they could, I stacked up the pizzas on top of each other, and someone put the stack on top of the couch that was next to us to get it off the table..
Bad Idea.
Becca accidentally sat right on top of that stack of pizzas, which made us all fall down laughing like we have never laughed before. It was so fun and made the night that much better .
We went to another bar, but then decided to head home early and just have fun there..
Also a bad idea.. It ended up taking us 2 hours to get home- with a lot of waiting and many many train transfers to get as close as we could to home before having to call a cab to take us the last stretch.
In this picture we were all able to get in it because we stopped this boy Jack and asked if her could please take it for us..
As it turns out, Jack was headed in the same direction we were at one point, so we got to talk to hi a bit.. He happened to be a comedian too- and made all the drunk girls I was with die laughing. The only joke I remember sorta involved laptop cancer? He put his laptop on his chest so that he wouldn't get cancer in his lap? I don't know.. but not to worry, he gave us the info to his next show- so Danielle and I were going to go see him next week. :]
We finally got home after wayyy overpaying for a cab ride. Stopped to get a couple beers and snacks. And hung out for a little longer, watched an episode of the wonder years, and fell asleep.
