The Hyatt: An Unexpected Journey

Kauai Adventures: Day 3

Today Evan and I set forth for a grand adventure to see if we could find a hidden dirt road to a secluded beach near the Hyatt hotel. The journey was a long, hot, 2.5 mile walk.... but we found it alright... and it was more spectacular than we had imagined.
Before I had left for Kauai, a friend from work gave me a map that showed a few secret fun spots to go to. He kept saying something about sneaking into a pool, but I didn't really understand why you would want to sneak in a pool while you have the beautiful beach all around you... I quickly figured out why...

About 10 minutes into our walk, we found this wonderful little nook that we will be returning to for snorkeling.

As expected, we just HAD to stop for a beer... what can I say? We were parched... :)

On our way to the secluded beach, also known as "Shipwrecks Beach," we saw these beauties everywhere...

These ones smell like candy

So many different colors of hibiscus!!

The walk took us a while, as we obviously took many stops to explore the land, but we finally made it to the trails into the Hyatt. As we were walking towards this beautiful beach, we stumbled upon the Hyatt's pool area....We were pretty much speechless as we had not expected this at all.

What do we do at this point? Go to the beach that we had originally set out for? Or enjoy this wonderful salt water pool, and lazy river with waterfalls, and relaxing sun chairs, and slides, and swans.... so many decisions to make... Evan, what do you think?

Needless to say, this is by far the best pool Evan and I have ever snuck into. All we had to do was jack a couple abandoned towels and hide in plain sight!

We got his parents to sneak in too! They came in right through the front door!

After a long day, we went back to the condo and relaxed for the rest of the night.

It was a good day. :)

Here are a few more pictures of the Hyatt pool:

Ohana Means Family

Kauai Adventures: Day 2

As with most "second days" on vacation, the most important priority was relaxation. That perfectly describes today as we made it a point to chill out and have our very own "Island Exploration."

Being a main-lander, I woke up super early (5am) and was ready to go exceptionally early. The majority of the day was taken up by exploring the island, however, that does not mean we did not see some amazing sights. Please enjoy the following:

Overall, it was a nice relaxing day. I wish all my followers were here to enjoy it with me! <3

See you tomorrow!!

What A Wonderful World

Kauai Adventures: Day 1

After restricting ourselves from beer for the last 6 weeks, Evan and I decided the best way to start our vacation would be to have a nice cold glass of beer while we wait to board. Even though it was 9:00am, we had been up for 5 hours, so it might as well have been the middle of the day... right?

Cheers! (to an unexpected journey)

After a long flight and a couple more beers, we finally landed and were off to see our place! This is the living room... As you can see, we have a really awesome balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean.

We then went on a short walk just around the corner to this restaurant called "The Beach House," where Evan was able to get his first Mai Tai in Hawaii.

We also enjoyed a variety of delicious appetizers with these two wonderful people! Chuck and Janell (Evan's parents) made this whole trip possible for Evan and I. We are already extremely grateful for this opporunity, thank you Chuck and Janell! We love you!

I'm not sure what else to say except "you were right mom," troubles really do melt like lemon drops here... hehehe :)

More tomorrow... stay tuned! :)
