Tubes and Toes

Kauai Adventures: Day 4

On Sunday we all got up early to go to church, then have breakfast at "Joes on the Green." This restaurant was on a golf course, and they had a pretty interesting menu. Including banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut and passion fruit syrup. This was our view.

We then got ready to go on a very wild ride, called Kauai's Backcountry Adventures. This tour tubed us through a five mile long irrigation ditch that was dug over 100 years ago with only shovels and pickaxes. This was created to bring water from the mountain down to the sugar cane fields until year 2000.

Now, its a ride.

Time to go in a tunnel!! eeeeek!

Everyone agreed that the tubing tour was AWESOME. The water was "refreshing" and our guides were so much fun. We got split up quite a bit, but had a great time nonetheless. Definitely recommended.

The day took a harsh turn once we got back to our condo. For those of you who know what happened to me last year at bass lake... well... it happened again. I cut up both of my feet this time and ended up in the emergency room as my cuts got infected... AGAIN. (this is me pouting)

I am quickly turning into the worst guest to bring on vacation (truly I am, wait till I tell you about our snorkeling boat trip)

Fortunately, Evan and I acted a little faster this time so we could catch it before it got super serious. The doctor said it was REALLY good we came in when we did. Four hours later I received (1) tetanus shot and was prescribed two medications. Evan was super supportive and caring during this entire hiccup in our trip. Thank you so much Evan for taking care of me, I love you <3
